Mixed Media “Hector” – 24”x 30”: The drama is this close-up display on a face, with expressive eyes shot through with deep feelings of both sadness and thoughtfulness. Expressive of the most intense emotions ever felt by an individual within a frame of imagination, the brushwork is bold and varied, with solid colors in red, blue, yellow, and white. It gives the impression of the face surfacing from a mass of turmoil or inner conflict, whichever one feels, and all this is brought out through texture and layering of colors, giving you the sense of an emotion. In particular, the eyes are pretty compelling in depth and sadness, and the abstract around-the-face pieces convey an air of confusion or disarray.
